Screen Repair
Cracked glass, a black display, lines across the screen, flickering, or a touchscreen that has stopped responding properly.

iPads live long lives. They get handed down, used as kids’ tablets, kept as second screens, and pressed into service years after a phone of the same age would have been retired — which is precisely why repairing them so often makes sense.
The two jobs we see most are cracked screens and tired batteries. Both are worth doing on an iPad in reasonable condition, and both take longer than the equivalent phone repair because of how much glass and adhesive is involved.

An iPad screen is a large sheet of glass bonded around its entire edge. Releasing it takes controlled heat and patience — done too quickly, the panel cracks further or a flex cable at the edge is damaged.
On some models the glass and the display are separate layers, so only the outer glass needs replacing; on others they are fused and the whole assembly is replaced. Which applies depends on your iPad, and it makes a substantial difference to the cost — so it is worth having us look at the specific device.
Either way, iPads need to be left with us rather than repaired while you wait.

Longer than a phone. The glass is bonded around the entire perimeter and has to be released slowly with controlled heat. iPads normally need to be left with us — we will give you a realistic timescale when we quote.
Often yes, because iPads stay useful much longer than phones. If it still receives updates and does what you need, a screen or battery repair is usually far cheaper than replacing it. On a very old iPad that has dropped off software support, less so — and we will say so.
Yes. iPad batteries are large and heavily glued to the chassis, so it is a time-consuming job, but on an iPad that is otherwise in good order it is a very worthwhile repair.
It is worth it. A large cracked panel is more likely to spread than a phone screen, glass can lift at the edges, and touch response often degrades over time. Repairing it before it worsens is usually the cheaper route.
Yes. Charging problems on iPads are frequently caused by a blocked port rather than a broken one, so we always check that first — see our charging port repair page.
